Why is Skateboarding what it is? What makes it so different than basketball or football? When someone plays ball it is w/e. Skateboarding has it's share of posers, good skaters and the really good skaters... So my question would be why is skateboarding so much different than other sports? Is it because unlike B-ball or Baseball, Skateboarding can cost up to $200? It it because Skateboarding has a lot more features than just going out there and shooting some hoops? How has skateboarding gone from just a sport to a clique, a fasion and a style?I believe skateboarding is a lot personality at the same time it is the sport. In basketball, soccer, baseball, there are many teams, but in boarding (being a skater myself) there is only one team. You help each other with tricks and share stories. There is also more opportunities in skating than in any other sport out there.the x-games..dew tour...publicity. now instead of just skating, it's cool to be a skater and in school everyone wants to be "cool"...it's really sad that people buy a board and never skate or wear the chlothes to be with the popular crowd. i think also youth of today has realized that individuality is a good thing. people are sick of team sports and like the idea of being dependent upon no one but themselves.
for me skating is a release. my way of getting out of the world and living in my own world for a short time. i can be creative. be at one and in tune with something.
it does have its share of posers. i've actually been called one because i'm not the best skater in the world. but i love it. who really cares what skating has become. i skate because i like and i like to assume others do the same as well. #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
